ABOUT THE WORK:

The majority of the work performed by seasonal workers involves picking the fruit by hand. However, this is not out in the open, but under covered tunnels which provide protection from the wind and rain.

After the fruit is picked, the on field Team Leader will check the quality, and then it will be transported to our pack house into big fridges which keeps the fruit fresh before it is despatched to the supermarkets.

The picking process can be difficult work, and involves a lot of bending, lifting and twisting. You would need to have a good level of physical fitness. Picking is performed in teams of up to 55 people who will work together on the same field. Whilst picking may be seen as unskilled work, other unskilled jobs which you may be required to perform are:

-Planting crops

-Weeding and husbandry work

-Erecting and dismantling poly tunnels.

-Irrigation Work

-Cleaning

Other skilled jobs which may also be available include:

-Tractor/Forklift Driver

-Field Team Leaders

-Quality Controllers

-Sprayers

-Minibus/Coach drivers

-Office/Admin work
